0.42 update: Storytelling elements, card design and Lore


Hi everyone!

So this is a big update for TTGOT as there is a new core rulebook, new card designs and playtests have been going very smoothly.

For those who have already read a previous version, this one have been clarified, with illustrated examples and new rules added:

  • Roleplaying elements (Character Sheet Page 15 to 16, Lore and how the narrative blends with the cards page 36 to 47)
  • Working Memory (page 14) and round timeline (page 25 to 27)
  • The first scenario to the Manager’s Island (page 48 to 57) New card design for all types of cards (Weapons page 22, Powers page 23, Passives page 24, Objects page 25, Enemies page 36).

I've also recently made a Game Design Breakdown about Game genres, and how/why I think of TTGOT as blending genres between cardgame mechanics and storytelling elements (https://the-gates-of-truth.itch.io/to-the-gates-of-truth/devlog/410765/gd-breakd...).
