Hi, this is Satya, the creator of Aces, kinda Attorneys. 

The game released the 23rd December 2024 in early access with rules and Print and Play game material. For this soft launch, here's a little "almost Christmas" sale!

• Why this game? What were the intentions?

Well, this should be obvious, but I grew up with Ace Attorney and in 2024 replayed the first game.

Aditionnaly, this game is a different, updated and polished prototype that was originally released for a 2021 Game Jam in collaboration with other people. This version still exists here and I thank everyone in this project!

This new version changes the system, the gameflow and intentions, polished interactions between players, etc. If the “old” version still (co)exists with this one, here are the major difference:

• This version relies less on improvisation and have cards and actions that guide the gameplay;
• This version doesn’t have a typical “gamemaster”, the judge has a very different role in this game;
• This version relies more on gameplay mechanics;
• This version relies more on cross examinations specifically;
• This version has a more pronounced identity, apart from its ace attorney inspiration, with original characters, mechanics, etc. 

If that’s what you’re looking for, this is the right place!

• Itchfunding & community copies

Community copies feels important to me, I used some before and I really enjoy this concept and when other designers do it. 

And why is there an itchfunding? I've tried a bit of designing before, and I feel like I still have to improve. In the mean time, I believe in this project and feel like artists (for the design layout, card design and illustrations) could bring to life the characters and the overall game. An itchfunding is a simple way to reach this :)
